Intratumoral heterogeneity models. The clonal evolution model suggests that intratumoral heterogeneity emerges from Subsequent mutational change that favors dominant sub clonal cells. Intratumoral heterogeneity sets up through cell differentiation according to the cancer stem cell model. The cancer stem cell plasticity model supports that intratumoral heterogeneity could be sourced from dedifferentiation of neoplastic cells
