Aims and scope
As the official publication of the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, the Journal of the Egyptian National Cancer Institute (JENCI) is an open access peer-reviewed journal that publishes on the latest innovations in oncology and thereby, providing academics and clinicians a leading research platform. JENCI welcomes submissions pertaining to all fields of basic, applied and clinical cancer research. Main topics of interest include: local and systemic anticancer therapy (with specific interest on applied cancer research from developing countries); experimental oncology; early cancer detection; randomized trials (including negatives ones); and key emerging fields of personalized medicine, such as molecular pathology, bioinformatics, and biotechnologies.

Journal of the Egyptian National Cancer Institute is the official journal of the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, accomplishing high quality research in its respected field.
About the Editor
Prof Hussein Khaled
Dr Hussein Khaled is a professor emeritus of Medical Oncology at the National Cancer Institute of Cairo University. He was the former Minister of Higher Education of Egypt, former Vice President of Cairo University for post graduate studies and research, and the former Dean of the Egyptian National Cancer Institute.
He has many national, regional, and international activities. Some of his national activities include being, the Head of the Council of the Egyptian Medical Oncology Fellowship, and the Editor in-Chief of the Journal of Advanced Research, the official journal of Cairo University. He was also appointed to be the Head of the Medical Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities. In 2014, he won the State Recognition Prize for Advanced Technological Sciences in the Medical Field. Internationally he was elected as a member of UICC board of directors (January 2017-December 2018).
His research activities are focused mainly on bladder cancer, breast cancer, and malignant lymphomas, with more than 180 national and international publications (total impact factor of 500, total citations of 4810, and h-index of 30 as of January 2021).
